TERMS OF SERVICE

1. Definitions


“Company” means Altan Plumbing & Heating Ltd., registered in England and Wales, company number 13583821.

“Customer” refers to the individual or entity purchasing services or a boiler plan.

“Services” includes all plumbing and heating services, including emergency callouts and boiler servicing.

“Service Plan” refers to any ongoing maintenance plan covering boiler servicing and related services.


2. Plumbing Services – Scope of Work


Work is performed as per the written quotation or agreed scope.

Additional or varied works not originally agreed will incur extra charges.

Emergency work may be charged at higher rates.


3. Boiler Service Plans – Terms of Cover


3.1 Scope of Service Plan


Annual boiler service (one visit per 12-month period).

Safety check of boiler and flue.

Visual inspection of system components.

Advice on system condition and performance.

Basic adjustments (as required and feasible).


3.2 Plan Exclusions


Service plans do not cover:


Parts and labour for breakdown repairs (unless explicitly included).

Pipework outside of the boiler casing.

Scale, sludge, or blockages in the system.

Pre-existing faults.

Any non-gas appliance (e.g., oil or solid fuel boilers).

Systems not compliant with manufacturer or Gas Safe regulations.


3.3 Eligibility and Inspection


Acceptance onto a service plan is subject to an initial inspection.

The Company reserves the right to *decline or cancel* a plan if the boiler is unsafe, unserviceable, or in poor condition.


3.4 Plan Duration & Renewal


Plans run for a 12-month term and are renewable annually.

The Company will send renewal notices 30 days before expiry.

The Customer may cancel within 14 days of plan start date for a full refund if no service has yet been provided.


3.5 Access


The Customer must provide reasonable access to the property and boiler at the agreed appointment time.

Missed appointments may result in rescheduling delays or fees.


4. Payment Terms


4.1 Standard Services


Invoices for ad hoc plumbing services are due upon completion, unless otherwise agreed in writing.


4.2 Service Plans


Service plans may be paid:


Annually in advance, or

Monthly by Direct Debit, where available.

Missed payments may result in suspension or cancellation of the plan.

The Company reserves the right to increase plan pricing with at least 30 days’ written notice before renewal.


5. Late Payments


Late payments on any invoice or plan will incur interest and charges in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998:


Interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate.

Fixed recovery costs (£40, £70, or £100 depending on debt size).

Additional reasonable recovery costs where applicable.


6. Cancellation


6.1 Standard Services


Minimum 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel a booked appointment or call-out. Late cancellations may be charged at a standard call-out fee.


6.2 Service Plans


Customers may cancel at any time with 30 days’ notice.

If a service has been delivered and full annual payment not received, the Company reserves the right to charge for services provided at standard rates.


7. Warranty and Liability


Workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months.

This warranty excludes:


Third-party damage.

Customer-supplied parts.

Failure due to pre-existing system issues.


8. Emergency Call-Out Policy


Emergency call-outs are subject to availability.

Additional charges apply for evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Emergency response time is not guaranteed.


9. Diagnostic Fee


A minimum diagnostic fee applies to all site visits.

Diagnostic fees are disclosed prior to booking and cover travel and diagnostic time.


10. Data Protection (GDPR)


We comply with the UK GDPR and *Data Protection Act 2018.

Your personal information is used only for the purpose of delivering services and processing payments.

You may request data access or deletion at any time.


11. Disputes


Both parties agree to resolve disputes amicably before pursuing formal legal remedies.

Failing that, disputes will be governed by the laws and courts of England and Wales.


12. Governing Law


These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
